shimmer
It Was My Intent That Shimmer Juxtapose Such Matters, As The Industrial To That Of The Naturalistic Within Its Appearance Or Its Perception Thereof. Entangled In Race And Ethnicity, It Screams Outlook At Me, I Am Here! I Am A Part Of You, Can You See Me, When Illuminated In Beauty, Talent, And Strength? Yet Within The Shadows, Shimmer's Values And Worth, Maybe Overlooked, Displaced, And Cast Aside, Back From Whence They Came. Yet In The End, I Believe Bronte Says It Best, "Whatever Our Souls Are Made Of, Yours And Mind Are One And The Same. If All Else Perished You Remained, We Will Still Continue To Be And If All Else Remained, And We Were Annihilated, Then The Universe Would Turn To A Mighty Stranger" And We Would All Rest.
Drawn to its simplicity, I had the desire to create more. This time leaving nothing to chance. calculating the variations in colour, length, height, and width, even the sizes or weight of the wires were considered, and the distance between the forms to that of the floor/ ground.
AS A WOMAN OF BRONZE, BRASS, AND COPPER DESCENT
In My Attempt To Create A Sculpture That Combined The Egg Cell As Well As The Sperm Cell In The Process Of Fertilization, This Piece Derived From That Failed Idea.
Within Me Is A Desire To Be Camouflaged, Shimmer Is Quite The Opposite Of This From The Outside. However It Is, It's A Natural Element That Connects Us All. I Sometimes Accomplish Being Camouflaged, With My Quiet Introvert Demeanor. I Imagine If My People Were Able To Be Camouflaged Most Of Our Young Bronze, Brass, And Copper Men Would Not Be Displaced, Incarcerated, Or To Hear The Sounds Of Their Blood Calling Out From The Earth, Which We Were Created From.
My Realization Lead Me To First Construct The Smaller Piece, Weaving These Natural Elements Within An Egg-Like Form As If To Give The Illusion Of What Could Be Conception.
